Previous History:  Here's another engine I have managed to trace some heritage for. I acquired this engine at a Farm Clearing Sale at Murphy's Creek (40 minutes from Bendigo). Originally part of a New Record Sawbench - this motor was bought by "Bill" (farmer's brother-in-law) and sold to Harry (farmer) and used to drive a 3 stand shearing shed for quite a number of years, until recently replaced by an electric motor (easier to start I guess, and quieter).

The New Record had remained mounted in the shearing shed, only removed the day before the sale and placed in the paddock with the rest of the equipment.

As you can see by the pics, the motor is in reasonable condition, is all original, including the fuel tank and retains it's original paintwork, although the flywheels have been painted yellow and you can see green underneath this where the paint has worn. Does anyone know if this was done in the factory, or by someone at the farm???

The exhaust valve was stuck, but a squirt of WD-40 and on the valve stem and a few taps and it's now nice and free. Good compression and a strong spark, shouldn't take a lot to get her to fire up.

Unsure whether to restore or retain in this condition.

Another plus, she still has the New Record S/N plate and the instruction plate on the fuel tank.

Unfortunately there wasn't a starting handle with the motor, so if anyone knows of one I can acquire/buy or can email me a picture or drawing so I can make one, that would be appreciated.
