Southside Historical Power Club

of Hampton Roads

Information

The Southside Historical Power Club of Hampton Roads was officially formed in June of 1995, with nine members. Since that time, we have obtained tax exempt status from the IRS as a 501 C(7) hobby club. Our tax exempt status affects the club funds only - it is not sales tax exemption, and does not make donations to the club eligible for tax exemption by the donor. What it allows us to do is keep club funds in the club name without being subject to income taxes. We have grown slightly since being formed, to about 15 members. Our interests cover vintage gasoline, kerosene, oil, and steam engines, and other forms of power, as well as farm implements, documentation, manuals, or anything else that may be relevant to these items.

Anyone interested in joining the club, within our geographic limits, can do so without owning an engine or implement. We have several members who obtained their first engine or other implement by attending shows and club functions, meeting people who share the same interests.

If you share our interests, and would like to join, please go to the home page and Email either the club President or Secretary/Treasurer.
