Frisco standard page 1

This engine is my 5HP "Frisco Standard". This particular marine engine was built in Oakland California. As far as I know this was the second location these engines were built, first they were manufactured in San Francisco. Standard also made some stationary engines. When I purchased the engine the original oilers were missing as well as the ignitor trip.

Once again my grandpa Gene Sherman comes to the rescue, armed with nothing more than a couple photos and a hand sketch he fabricated this new ignitor trip rod for me.  Excellent work grandpa!!!!!!!

Friend and fellow collector Gene Brady gave me this oiler, an original Frisco Standard oiler!  The filler cap had been broken and the lower threaded area has also been broken just above the hex. I fabricated the new parts for the filler cap and on my lathe I turned down the area just above the hex where the two pieces had been silver soldered back together.
