A little about me…...

Born and raised here on Vashon Island, as my grandpa would say "Where else is there?" I am a sixth generation Islander. My family settled here in 1877 they were the first white permanent settlers here. My grandparents live on a portion of the original family homestead and my wife and I also own a 10 acre portion of the homestead property and have filed for a permit to build our new home and shop there..

My wife Karie and I have a 4 year old son Emmett, and 1 year old daughter Olivia

Me in about 1969 in a 1925 Chrysler car my grandfather put together from nothing but boxes of parts.

S.D. and Eliza Sherman posed in front of their original homestead cabin nick-named "Ft Necessity" the cabin was on the property when they filed for the homestead claim in 1877, it was an abandoned loggers cabin. The cabin was very close to the water, it was not uncommon for loggers to set up and fall trees on the governments land and float them off to the local mills, use them as fire wood for steam boats or masts for sailing vessels. This photo was taken in the late 1880's the rifle S.D. is holding is a 32 caliber Marlin -Ballard, my dad now owns the rifle.
