Serial Number 274300. Manufactured in 1941.
These pictures were taken after 3 months of cleaning. Some grease
on this engine was so hard it had to be chipped off with a
screw driver. The gas tank had a hole in the bottom you could
fit atleast two fingers into, plus it was filled with pin holes.
We're in the process of fixing that with some stuff
called Kreem. For now we rigged up a gas tank off of a
lawn mower. In these pictures the engine is blue, I found out
the engine was originally Brewster Green, don't know why it's blue.
It ran really fast when we first got it to start. The detent blade
wasn't engaging. It fired every revolution. Almost jumped
off the work bench the first time it started.
Below we had most of the parts off for easier cleaning and
preparing for painting. We used a brass refurbisher on the
brass tag. I thought about leaving it dull, but thought it would
look better shiny .
Below the engine is all painted but still needs to be
pin striped. A few additional pieces need to be painted also.
The color is Brewster Green. It's a really dark green.
I wish the original gas tank was fixed and ready for the pictures.
The pictures below show the pinstriping job.
