This was our third engine. We got it at a swap meet.
We thought we were going to a small show and didn't know that
it was a swap meet. We saw this come in and the guy had it for
sale or trade. He was more interested in trading our Stover for it.
We declined as the Stover was our first engine to purchase and
restore together. So he didn't want to sell the Economy. We offered
him what he was asking, but he was more interested in a trade.
We got his card and called him a couple days later to see if he sold
it,
he didn't. So, we offered him what he was asking, again, cash. He
accepted. It came with the trailer so that was nice. But the trailer
wasn't.
We had to go about 35 mph all the way home on the expressway.
It had a 15" tire and a 16" snow tire, unbalanced, on it so the ride
wasn't
to smooth. A one hour drive turned into three hours, but it's home
safely.
The guy we bought it from said he
didn't own it long. He bought it from the wife of an older guy that
had passed away. They belonged to the same engine club.
In the picture below we have the trailer all painted with
some "free" rims out of a salvage yard. We cleaned
and painted the rims and bought some new tires.
These engines are not on this trailer any more. The two engines above
were
our first two purchases. We picked up more engines since then and needed
a bigger trailer. Both of these are on the 16 foot trailer now.
