People's Priced
Barely a thousand of these engines were made since they were first introduced in 1912. Being the forerunner of the popular model N, the later bears a strong resemblance to these early engines. The design is almost identical except for minor block dimensions and the two bolt split hub flywheel. Available in 1 1 /4, 2 1/4, 4, 6, 8 and 10 hp the People's Priced led the way from the expensive but well built DE to the more affordable and lighter model N.

The 2 1/4 hp People's Engine, notice the similarities to the later model N.

This is an early design 2 1/4 hp engine, cylinder and base are a single casting on this example, later ones had the familiar two piece base/cylinder.

The rare and unusual 1 1/4hp People's Priced engine. The same governor weight was used on the later J series engines.

Take note of the unique two piece ignitor. Also the gears are inside the crankcase, the only F&J horizontal engine to have this design.
