Again I find myself the owner of another Farm Pump Engine! This one came from a pump house on Nantucket Island. It was missing the push rod and rocker arm but everything else was there including the pump. After a good cleaning this engine started right up and it runs very good.

While at Dublin, NH I picked up a very nice 4cyl model BC engine.

Here is what must be the most unusual engine to ever come out of the F&J factory. Only about 100 of these heavy duty "Big 4" pumping engines were built. They shared a few parts with the Double Efficiency engines and incorporated some unusual features. One is a hand clutch allowing the engine to be started without a load. Another was a most unique ignition system using a Bosch 32 oscillating magneto. They also featured an auxiliary exhaust port like the smaller Farm Pump Engines only these are piped together. Currently this is the only complete and running Big 4 engine. It starts easy, runs great and is neat to watch.

My first engine of 2004! At long last I have tracked down an early example of the 1 1/2 hp N. This one has the 1913 model igniter and still has quite a bit of original paint left.

Here is my 6 hp Peoples Priced engine # 10481 shipped 2-7-13 to Two Borkers Ltd. Amherst, Nova Scotia. I had to make new valves and guides, repair some freeze damage to the head and make a new wristpin and bushing. I've got the original fuel tank for it too. When new it would of had an ignitor and low tension coil for ignition. It was converted to high tension some time ago but I stuck on my spare Wizard plugoscillator to get the engine running. I still need to weld in a broken out piece of the base but will call this one finished for now. It does run really good!

Here is my very rare 776K sawrig shipped July 5th 1919 to Western Electric Co. in Boston, MA. The engine is a 7hp model K throttling governor kerosene engine and was once equipped with the seldom seen Sumter oscillating magneto. The #6 saw frame bolts to back of cart. It's in need of some new paint but otherwise looks to be in good shape, never having sawed much wood.

Here is my 1925 3hp NB. It was complete except for the EK rocker and one greaser cap. The head is badly frost damaged but I can fix that. Also the rocker arm bracket was broken but I just happened to have a spare. Took me about an hour to get running and it runs good but is really worn out.

I picked up an early 15B lightplant engine in neglected condition. Several bits will be used to complete my other 15B which is in much better shape. The remains will get painted up and put in the garden. Sure beats the scrap yard which is where this engine almost ended up!
Here is my hopper cooled model AB 5-8hp.

This very scarce 3 1/2 hp ND once powered a large cement mixer.
Ditch lain 1919/20 5hp model N. Mostly there but stuck at tdc. This engine is for sale!

I've been most fortunate to obtain a very rare and highly unusual 1 1/4 hp People's Priced engine. I did a little mechanical work to the governor and ignitor, gave things a quick coat of paint and put a wheelbarrow truck underneath. Wow it sure does run great!

In the fall of 2009 I was able to acquire this 1918 12hp model K engine. It is very complete and is equipped with the Sumter oscillating magneto as well as a hopper cover plate and Havana clutch pulley. It starts very easy for a large engine and runs excellent.

My last engine of 2009! People's Priced engines are seldom seen and fewer still turn up from the very first month of production sporting a lovely cast brass mixer so I pounced on this one. This engine had worked hard for a very long time. I rebuilt everything including sleeving the bore and casting a new piston. It now runs fantastic and am going to put it on an original hand cart.

1918 1 1/2hp model N with the Sumter plugoscillator setup.
I have been after an early vertical hopper cooled ignitor fired F&J for a long time. Finally during the summer of 2010 I had to opportunity at the Baraboo, WI show to make a partial trade for this 1907 2 1/2hp engine. It was an older restoration on a nice cart missing only the valve lock rod and correct oiler which I had . I had to replace the valves and make new guides which was quite a challenge in this engine. New rings were installed, a new fuel pump plunger made along with a new crank gear and I also worked on tightening up all the linkages. It still needs work on the main and rod bearings and some new paint. This engine starts very easy and runs excellent.

While at the F&J Rally held in 2010 at the Baraboo, WI show grounds I picked up this superb 5hp Double Efficiency on factory trucks. I made a new fuel pump plunger for it along with an intake valve and guide plus I installed a new water sight glass. It's in very good shape, starts easy and runs excellent!

I have found out that this is a Mity Kat made in Medford, MA. It was used locally at a saw mill to drag logs out of the woods. I found parts to fix the Hercules ZXB-3 engine, but still need a shift collar for the Twin Disc MTU clutch. Who has one???

Just got in an interesting little tractor called an Agrozet MT8-162, it was made in Czechoslovakia. Its got a heated cab, all wheel drive, hi/low 4 speed gear box, 3pt hitch front and back with PTO and a snow plow. Power plant is a Kubota D1302-B diesel engine. Although there were only 55.5hrs on the clock, it needed quite a bit of work. It's not quite finished in the photo but at least it is running and moves around.

My first farm tractor is a John Deere model MT. It was used on a nursery not far from my home but was abused all its life. All the sheet metal is rusty and dented, rear end worn out, clutch badly worn and even burned, the list goes on! To my great dismay while taking the engine apart, I removed the head only to stare down through one piston at the floor! The tractor is all apart in storage until I can afford to restore it properly.
My second farm tractor is a 1939 Case model SC. The tractor was used its entire life on an orchard in Franklin, MA. One day the engine made a funny noise so the owner parked it but bought a Farmall before getting round to fixing the Case. I bought the tractor from the first owner's son in 1997. Overall it is in good shape, needing some minor valve work, brakes and tires to get mobile again.
In the summer of 2007 I got an early John Deere 40C crawler. It's in pretty good shape but starter needs rebuilding, the generator is missing and steering clutches are stuck. It does run and go back and forth though!
