Fuller & Johnson 7 hp model K throttling governor kerosene engine # 58012

This engine was used to saw wood on a farm in Canton, Massachusetts.  When new it came equipped with a low tension geared magneto and ignitor.  After the Wico EK magneto came on the market, Fuller & Johnson offered a kit to convert the older low tension engines.  This engine is one of those that was converted.

Here is the engine as received one fine September day.  Very rusty, stuck, damaged and a bit moldy.  Notice the old rotary magneto bracket and factory EK mag conversion.

A straight edge isn't even needed to tell that the crankshaft is bent.

Bailing wire wrapped around the governor weights and a brazed connecting rod.

At some point in time the mixer was broken off.  It was put in the hopper for safe keeping.  But the starting bowl plug was missing and it filled with water.  End result, one very nasty crack.

It took a lot of heat to get the mixer apart, and a lot of bronze to fix all the breaks.  New bronze bushings were also installed to compliment the new butterfly shaft.
