This is my latest mill project. It is a 16" Williams mill. Though it appears to be a Williams mill, I suspect it was acutally manufactured by Meadows sometime after they bought out Williams. There is a trace of red paint which to me indicates it wasn't built by Williams as their mills were yellow. As you can tell from the picture, what I actually have are pieces to the mill. All of the wooden enclosure is rotted away. But, the mechanical pieces and the stones are in great shape. It can be rebuilt. This will be a long term project, so stay tuned.

Other than the wooden enclosure being completely rotted away, the only major problem with the mill was that the runner stone was loose on the shaft. The stone is secured to the shaft with babbitt. I contacted a friend who had poured some babbitt bearings for me once before and asked if he thought he could reattach the stone. He was up to the challenge and did a great job.
