... Finally Finished ...

After nearly three years, my Williams mill is finally finished. After sitting inside my shop for nearly two years having never ground its first kernel of corn, I decided to move it outside under cover and finish assembling it. I did this over my two week Christmas break, 2002. I ordered a piece of flatbelt. I finished the mill without any problems, but day after day passed and the flatbelt didn't arrive. Finally, it came on the last Saturday before I had to go back to work. Unfortunately, the belt wasn't long enough. Fortunately, I had another piece to splice into it. Unfortunately, the lacing was different on the two belts and I couldn't lace them together. So the following Monday I went to a local shop to have the lacing changed. It would be until the next weekend before I could try again. Well, Saturday was out because of other commitments and it rained all day Sunday. Finally on Saturday, January 18, 2003, everything was ready. Unfortunately, once again, I had another commitment. The next afternoon nothing was going to stop me. I belted the mill up to my John Deere H tractor. Here a few pictures of the result.
