While waiting for the gaskets I rebuilt the carburetor. I reassembled the engine and it started right up. Transmission is stuck so it's next.

Here is a picture of the transmission completely torn down. The gears are in reasonably good shape after a little cleaning. The shifting forks are in pretty bad shape. They had been welded up. I will replace them. The shifter rails were also pitted pretty bad and will be replaced also. I found some forks and rails on eBay. The rear main shaft bearing was also burnt to a crisp. I'm in the process now of trying to find a replacement. Transmission should be good as new once I get it back together.

It's come down to this. After attempting to clean up the tunnel without taking it off, I decided it would be easier just to remove it first. It wasn't that big a deal. It'll be a lot easier to clean up and paint with it off the tractor. Not much left in this picture.

Here's the transmission and PTO all back together and ready to go.
