Aircooled Petter genset (of military origin)

I acquired my first Petter on this trip. It is an aircooled military style 32 volt (35volt) genset.
On arriving home I cleaned the carburettor and made new carb gaskets and she started and ran pretty well if a bit rough. I need to strip the carb again as well as do a cleanup job on this engine and I'm sure it will run perfectly.

The electrical board and guages are not original - there should be a tool box in that position. The guage etc. is quite nice so I think I will make a new toolbox and put the electrical stuff somewhere else. Also the tubing framework has been a bit butchered but I'll fix that up. The exhaust manifold is a bit damaged but can be fixed and the silencer is missing - does anyone have a pic of the correct silencer?

Unfortunately the spec plates are all missing and I could do with some help in identifying the model. The generator spec plate has a date of 1943.

Can anyone tell me the model and anything interesting about this set. It was obviously for the War Department and made 2 years before the end of WW2. Could it have been war surplus?

Anyone who can identify the Model please reply.
