This engine was rescued from a
farm in
the Bloemhof area where it had spent it's life pumping water from the
Vaal River. The previous owner had planned (and started) to
restore it but sometimes things do not work out the way
they are planned and contacted me a few weeks ago to look for a
good home for it. On Saturday my friend, Rodney
Burnett, Jacqui (my daughter) and myself made the trip to look at the
engine. A deal was struck and we loaded the engine onto Rodney's truck. Rodney plans to start the
restoration
very soon and I will attempt to keep this page updated with progress
reports (but Rod has to remember to send me pics:-)) For now here are a few pics of the
first sighting and loading. (The first 2 pics are of the engine a year
or so back, when the previous owner brought it back from Bloemhof). The original owner also gave us the
operators manual and spare parts list for the engine which is now
scanned and available as a .pdf file on my Click on any
