| "Jerry
Evans in Gauteng, South Africa" This site hosted on http://www.oldengine.org/ - Thanks to Jim Dunmyer for the space. Britain, the USA and Australia have many sites dedicated to old stationary engine collecting and restoration but as yet, South Africa has hardly any. This, in spite of the fact that South Africa has many excellent and dedicated collectors and restorers of old Stationary engines and farming equipment. The aim of this site will be to
showcase the South African collectors and their work. I intend to initially
do this by posting pictures of engines at shows that I attend - mainly in
the southern Gauteng/Vaal Triangle area of South Africa as well engines
belonging to friends and my small collection. Future plans include pages
dedicated to specific collectors and their work. With this in mind please
feel free to contact me if you would like to be included. Remember that I
am not only looking for the "big time" collectors - even if you only have
one or two engines I will make space for you. I have been interested in old engines for as long as I can remember but only became involved since meeting people like Norman Spykerman, Neville Botha, Justin Ludewig and Jan Swart (June 2004). I will upgrade and update the site as and when I have time. In the meantime please make the most of your visit and feel free to contact me with any comments or questions. See the bottom of this page for contact details. |

Here is a Gib Key puller that you can make from materials in your scrap box that will not damage the paintwork on your engine's flywheel. It does not need any special equipment to make. If you own a hacksaw, electric drill, welder and a few files you can make it for virtually no cost. Click here to read more |
