New Year Crank Up 2004

Every New Year, members of the Stationary Engine List around the world remember engine friends who have passed away by running engines in their memory. 2004 was cold but damp rather than raining, and the twins ran several engines.

Margaret Maytag, for whom this was the 4th New Year Crankup

Tillie, who managed to run briefly for the 2002 Crankup, was not running at all for 2003 and is now running perfectly, thanks to her head repair

The Hercules which accompanied Tillie across the pond, and which, on this occasion, refused to do more than cough a few times

The Petter S was run in memory of its former owner, Joe Callow, who died in 2003, and will be much missed at future shows
