The backs of some disused industrial buildings along the canal near Aylestone. Perhaps it is buildings like this which make boaters less than enthusiastic about travelling through Leicester, but, after all, the canals were built to serve industry.
Several of the locks between Wigston and South Leicester were padlocked and could only be opened with a British Waterways key.
