Approaching the church at Normanton-on-Soar. This church has its own jetty, for worshippers arriving by river, and there is also a small chain ferry alongside the church to enable access for those from across the water! We made our end-of-trip mooring shortly after this as Tuesday evening was planned for the handover. We didn't want to go too far north and end up with a mooring directly under the flightpath for East Midlands airport, so we chose a pleasant canal-side pub at Zouch where it would be easy to swap over belongings, take the dog off Reeve and install the cat, and enjoy a meal and drinks swapping canal tales.
