The approach to Saddington Tunnel, some 5 or 6 minutes from home by car. The speed limit on canals is about 3mph, so there's no hurrying or covering large distances quickly. The tunnel is a couple of hours from Reeve's moorings at Debdale. Saddington Tunnel is about half a mile long and wide enough for two boats to pass, but as we approached, another boater told us the boat currently in the tunnel was a day-hire boat, we decided to wait until they were clear as it's not easy to take a perfect line in the dark!
