Engine reversing control gear. The worm wheel is activated by the chromed disc wheel
on the right, which is also driven by a small steam engine underneath.
Rod goes up at an angle to the main reversing shaft running along the back (actually, the side)
of the engine. Steam pipe and valve for the small Donkey engine in front.
