Improvements in means for starting internal combustion engines of the kind in which the fuel is injected by high pressure air supplied by a multi-stage pump.
The invention consists essentially in the combination with a receiver formed between the high and low pressure stages of the pump of a reservoir, so connected and controlled by valves that, during starting, air from the reservoir passes direct to the receiver and thence to the injection air pipe, and during normal working this connection is closed, and the air passes direct from the reservoir to the injection air pipe.
