This invention describes an improved piston for Diesel or continuous combustion engines, which piston will not be injuriously affected by the products of combustion.

According to the invention, a plate of some metal not readily oxidised,such as Nickel, is connected to the working face of the piston in such a way that the cast-iron body of the latter surrounds the edges of the plate.
