Comprises a method for reversing two-stroke cycle Diesel or slow-combustion engines wherein a single shaft is caused to actuate the several valves of the engine, for effecting which the shaft is provided with a cam-disk for each type of valve employed.
To attain the above object the initial angles of opening of the different types of valves, as for instance the fuel and the scavenging valves, remain constant after automatically turning the distributing shaft through and angle equal to the total opening of the valve minus twice its angle of preliminary or initial opening, according to the direction in which the engine is running.
