This invention relates to valve-operating gear for reversible internal combustion engines.
The improvement comprises a valve-operating gear in which the several valves are actuated by levers, bowls on the levers being actuated by rotating cams, having a device for depressing, or otherwise moving, the fulcrums of the levers so as to bring the bowls on the levers into contact with the rotating cams by means of a sliding cam bar, provided with a plurality of cam surfaces, one for each lever, and for lifting or otherwise moving, in the desired sequence the fulcrums of the levers so as to move the bowls out of contact with the rotating cams either positively by the same cam bar or by springs.
