A typical Bamford small corn grinding mill, shown at a rally in the UK during 1998. The feet and wheels are not original, and have been fitted for greater ease of movement for what is quite a heavy piece of machinery. The step in the frame would have housed a drive pulley if the end shaft was not able to be used. The mill would require about 2hp to drive.
These mills are quite popular in the UK for preservationists, as they are reasonably easy to transport and handle by a single person. The larger Bamford 3C mill which I have, weighs close on half a ton, and is fitted with the larger rolling wheels as well as the grinding mechanism.
