This is my litlle Fairbanks-Morse ZC 52. It's my first engine. I got it in Carmi, Illinois in 1972, when I was 16. It ran an oil well pump for many years. This engine bears casting dates in 1954 on the engine block and flywheels, with "KC" for Kansas City. The subbase was cast in 1955. The serial number begins with "KC" and is not continuous with earlier Z serial numbers.
As you can see, it runs! :-)
It does burn a bit of oil!
Whirring right along.
Yet another view.
Here the little Z is serving as the "Christmas Engine," decorating our front yard. :-)
