The Greendale Engine
Greendale Engine
This Greendale engine is owned by Bill Haxton of Oxford, Mass. Bill says these engines were made in Worcester, Mass., from 1895 to 1906. About 25 to 30 of the vertical style engines still exist. This one is horizontal, six feet long, and weighs 2000 to 2500 pounds. Bill says he has never met anyone who has ever seen another horizontal engine.
