West Virginia Oil & Gas Festival - Sistersville, WV 9-15-2006
The West Virginia Oil & Gas Festival takes place along the Ohio River in Sistersville, WV. It is oriented to the larger oil well engines and oil well paraphernalia but there are lots of smaller stationary engines of all kinds. Not much steam at this show but, once in a while, someone will bring a great looking half-scale steam traction engine or other steam display.
This guy had a bit of a problem getting started. After a while it was
running sweet.
A few of the Oil Well Engines on display.
Pattin Bros 20 HP Reid 15 HP Kootz & Stroehman 10 HP
This is my favorite display, a 1917 Fairbanks-Morse 2 HP Lawn Roller.
It weighs 640 lbs and is owned by Skip Price of Frederick, MD. I couldn't
resist it. I had to take a ride.
Native animals always looking for a handout.
Sid Heckman Cliff Atkinson
Dave Davis. Dave is busy
cooking up some "Finger Food" for a late night snack.
No telling what that "Finger Food" might have been. There was a
black snake crawling around the grounds that night.

A real nice half-scale A.D. Baker Steam Traction Engine.

A great display of Walk-Behind Tractors by Tim Bonneville.
This unique, amazing, cannon is powered by air and shoots golf balls across the
Ohio River.
Stumptown Steam Threshers - New Athens, OH 9-9-2006 The Stumptown Steam Threshers Show is a nice, well organized, show with lots of Steam Traction Engines, Oil Well Engines, Farm Engines and many, many other displays to please everyone. There is games for the children, fiddler's contest, great food and entertainment into the night. It also features a hugh, well stocked, Flea Market. This is one of the better, all around, engine shows that I attend.

Coolspring Power Museum - Coolspring, PA 6-16-2006
Looking at a nice pump jack, I didn't realize the importance of how unique it
is.
Hearing all the racket of the exhaust, I had to find out where it was coming
from. Then I found it to be this really nice Harley Davidson, McCormick-Deering,
Farmall Tractor.
The Coolspring Power Museum will soon be the home of this gigantic 600 hp SNOW
gas engine.
A couple shots of the 1913 MILLER IMPROVED, 4 cylinder, 300 hp, twin opposed
engine.
Just a few shots of the amazing engines at the Coolspring Power Museum summer
