Victa was a pioneer in Australia as a manufacturer of rotary lawn mowers for domestic use. Invented and built in Australia by a home handyman and mechanic, they were extremely successful. Victa has never built a four-stroke engine, any Victa mowers with a four-stroke are actually Briggs & Stratton or Tecumseh engines. Victa enjoyed good business up until recently when they have started to decline.
One of the first Victa engines and mowers was this one.
My early Victa.
This engine is mounted on a deck that looks like the blade disc on a modern mower, with the cutting blades underneath. The deck was broken when I got it, and it is an almost complete project.
If anyone has any information I have not mentioned here, or have any questions about Victa engines, please feel free to email me.
