1:         NAME:              The National Vintage Tractor & Engine Club – KENT GROUP.

 

2:         OBJECTIVE:     To promote, preserve, assist, and exhibit Vintage Tractors, Stationary Engines, Farm Implements and Agricultural Equipment for the enjoyment of the members and the public.

 

3:         MEMBERSHIP FEES:    Rates shall be as set by the National Executive plus the Kent Group levy.

 

4:         MEMBERSHIP:    Shall be open to persons who MUST abide by the rules and constitution of the Club and

further the progress of the Kent Group.   Applications shall be made on the official forms and passed to the

Membership Secretary.   Please note that we only accept full paid up members and do not accept associate members.

 

5:         ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:    Shall be held in February of each year.

 

6:         A.G.M.:     Shall elect a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, and

such other members as to make up a Committee of not less than nine members.   All members shall retire

three yearly, one third of members standing down on each occasion.  Members may be available for

re-election if so desired.

 

7:         NOMINATIONS:    Nominations for the posts of Officers and Committee will only be accepted on the official nomination forms only, correctly completed, and received by the Secretary by the 1^st January. 

 

8:         AGENDA:    The Agenda for the A.G.M. must include reports from the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and

Membership Secretary.

 

9:         ACCOUNTS:     Fully audited annual accounts will be presented at the A.G.M. These shall be available for

inspection by any member at the A.G.M. or at any other time provided one months prior notice is received in writing by the committee.

 

10:        SUBSCRIPTIONS:    Shall be payable on 1^st January each year.   NEW MEMBERS shall be charged

full rates up to 31^st October.   Thereafter, full rates shall be paid, but these will be deemed to cover the

following year in addition.   Late renewals may be subject to a re-joining fee of £1.

 

11:        MEETINGS:    Shall be held throughout the year at The Sandyacres Sports & Social Club, Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford, Kent.   One month’s notice of any change of venue to be given to the membership.

 

12:        COMMITTEE MEETINGS:    Shall be held at regular intervals throughout the year for the general running

of the club.   Any officer or other committee member failing to attend any three consecutive meetings

without notification of absence to the Secretary shall cease to be a member of that committee for the

remainder of the year.

 

13:        DISCIPLINE:     Any member may be disciplined by a committee meeting for any breach of the club rules.  The right to appeal may be exercised at the next committee meeting.   The member to be disciplined shall be given prior notice of the committee’s intention to invoke this rule.

 

14:        SAFETY:    All members shall abide by the set of N.V.T.E.C. rules, as laid down by the National Executive.

 

15:        INSURANCE:    The club will not be held responsible for any liability or misdemeanour committed by its

members and advises members to check that they have the correct insurance for their exhibits before attending any rallies, ploughing matches or other events. 

 

16:        DISSOLVED:    The Kent Group may be dissolved after a period of three months, providing notice is given

to the National and the Group assets are disposed of by the last meeting.

 

17:        EXTRAORDINARY MEETING:      Extraordinary Meetings may be called by not less than 25% of the Group membership joining together requiring the Secretary to call one.   Extraordinary Meetings may also be called by the Secretary on behalf of the General Committee.   At least one month’s notice in writing shall be given to the membership of such meetings.
