Why not Join? An Introduction to North Midland Group 2006 The group was formed in 1971 when John Adams, with friends formed a “Fordson Owners Club.” As interest grew, and more members joined the club, other tractors and stationary engines were collected and restored. The club then became affiliated to the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club and at one time had over 300 members. The aim of our club is simply to enjoy collecting, restoring, and showing our machinery, and of course talking about it! New members will be made welcome and may well wish to collect machinery ether for restoration or just to “play with”. The home page photo shows Mark Adams with his son Scott on his Lanz Bulldog. Three generation of Mark’s family in our club as his late Father, John, was a founder member Over the last five years we have visited many places and coach trips have included, York Railway Museum, Beamish working Museum, Black Country Museum Iron Bridge Gorge, Bessingham Steam Museum and many others. We have other trips to Christmas Markets, and in summer evening outings to local attractions, which include Ark rights Mill at Cromford and Butterly Railway Museum. If you are interested in old machinery then you should enjoy our trips. Our Club meets at 8pm on the last Monday in the month, September to June, at the Moon Hotel in Spondon near Derby. If the Monday evening coincides with a Bank-Holiday then the meeting will be held a week earlier. Club evenings usually include a talk, films and occasionally one of “Alan’s quiz- nights” Stationary Engine and Display insurance is also available to members at a discounted rate. Insurance is necessary to participate in any rally or event. If you have any questions please contact: John Smith - email: info@northmidlandsnvtec.co.uk Or Alan Hitchcock on 07855494506 |
