Spark Plugs

A lot of our engines use D16 champion spark plugs. I have found them to cause trouble with engine misfire and fowling up causing the engine to stop and sometimes not start. The reason causing this is our fuel, when these engines were made the fuel they run on was standard or power kerosene. This fuel was of a low grade or lower octane rate which could be fired with a cold rated plug like the D16, now we only have replacement super which I don't recommend for our old engines.

I have found unleaded or premium unleaded with the correct mix of Moreys fuel additive which is available at most Repco stores at 25 dollars a litre which I might add will mix up into 650 litres of fuel will prevent valve recession or what is called burning out valve seats and valve faces and sticking valves,

The replacement plug I use is a D21 champion, Repco sells them and they are a hotter heat range so this prevents fowling and misfiring, use unleaded fuel with Moreys and I think you will see and hear the difference.
